Copyright & Takedown Policy

Effective Date: 19 July 2026

Entity: UplitPublishing Pty Ltd, Queensland, Australia

1. Our Commitment

Uplit is a platform for original writing. We respect the intellectual property rights of authors and rights holders, and we require every writer publishing on Uplit to do the same. Publishing content you did not create and do not hold the rights to is a breach of our Terms and of copyright law.

2. Writer Warranty

Before any book can be submitted for review, its author must warrant that the work is their own original creation and that they hold all rights necessary to publish and sell it (or a license covering its commercial use, including any cover artwork). This warranty is recorded with the account, date and time. Writers indemnify Uplit against claims arising from content they publish.

3. Reporting Copyright Infringement

If you believe content on Uplit infringes copyright you own or represent, send a notice to info@uplitpublisher.com.au with the subject line “Copyright notice”, including:

4. What Happens After a Valid Notice

5. Counter-Notice

If your content was removed and you believe the removal was mistaken or the claim is false, you may send a counter-notice to the same address, identifying the removed material and explaining, with supporting evidence, why you hold the rights to it. We review counter-notices in good faith; content is restored only where the evidence supports the writer's rights.

6. Repeat Infringers

Accounts that repeatedly publish infringing content are terminated. Uplit may also terminate an account after a single incident where the infringement is flagrant (for example, publishing a well-known commercially published work as one's own).

7. Provenance

Uplit retains records that help establish authorship, including account registration details, submission timestamps, uploaded source files and — for books written in the Uplit editor — the incremental writing and revision history. These records may be used to assess competing claims and may be disclosed to legal authorities when required by law.
